Proxy authentication for licensing?

Our Wowza Streaming Server is behind a proxy that requires authentication. Since the streaming is only aimed at the company intranet, this isn’t that big an issue.

However, in order to authenticate its license, Wowza has to go online. I’ve done this by setting up a proxy address, port and login/password on the Server.xml configuration file, but that means my password is stored in a regular, unencrypted, text file. I can’t leave it at that.

Any tips on how to avoid this?

Hi,

Unfortunately no there isn’t a way to store your credentials in an encrypted fashion. Depending on OS you can set the file ownership so that only a root user can open the file but we don’t encrypt credentials at this time.
