IP camera (RTSP/RTP re-streaming) Authentication [ username and password ]

Hi,

I re-stream video from an IP camera (RTSP/RTP re-streaming) but some IP cameras need Authentication.

In many models i can disable Authentication for RTSP. But for security reason this may not be the right solution.

Does WOWZA server support this kind of authentication?

If so while I re-stream RTSP/RTP source according to to the tutorial How to re-stream video from an IP camera where should I put IP cameras username-password pairs?

Best Wishes

Mahmut

It simply works

rtsp://username:password@192.168.X.XXX/stream1

without any other setting.

Thanks…

Thanks for update !

Please see this doc on how to accomplish this:

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-enable-username-password-authentication-for-rtmp-and-rtsp-publishing#rtsp

you usually have to enter the complete address when creating the stream files, the address syntax depends on the cam manufacturer or model, but it´s usually this way:

rtsp://USER:PASS@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0

my camera rtsp url is rtsp://admin:Ab12345@.+@182.191.69.152:555/Streaming/Channels/101 this and i stream it into vlc media player but wowza cant play the stream i dont understand why but when i stream the diasbled rtsp authentication cameras stream it is played
