Beginner-Question - VOD-MP4 Streaming not starting

Hi,

this is prob. a beginner question. I installed just the Wowza-Trial (recent version). I put there several MP4-Files to the content-dir but non of them starts when access the link:
On tcpdump i see the GET-Request to the file and the answer 302 (video/mp4) - until that point it seems to be ok BUT on the output it is just:
<—qoute request—>
GET /plainvideos/xyz.mp4 HTTP/1.1
Host: xxxx
Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate
User-Agent: HLS Client/2.0 (compatible; LG NetCast.TV-2012)
Connection: Keep-Alive
<—/qoute—>

<—qoute response—>

Wowza Streaming Engine 4 Trial Edition (Expires: Nov 16, 2020) 4.8.5.05 build20201006161917Wowza Streaming Engine 4 Trial Edition (Expires: Nov 16, 2020) 4.8.5.05 build20201006161917 <---/qoute---> So it looks like there is a page on the output and the player does not start the VoD-File.

It makes no difference if the end-device is (like here) an smart-tv or an browser (google chrome + safari tested). Result is always the same

Hi welcome to the community, we’ll get it figured out. I want to make sure you have Engine working properly first. Are you able to play our sample mp4 Buck Bunny?

If you can’t get a test player to work, you can try VLC player. Can you let me know if that works? Then we can troubleshoot from there for your own mp4s. Thanks.

Also can you share what your playback url looks like you are trying to play? Obviously, change the name of the stream or anything private, but I just want to make sure you have the correct url structure for vod.
