Thans for your help.

The 404 errors indicate that you are not using a valid Icecast url. It is saying that your Icecast server is returning a 404 error which indicates that the stream cannot be found. Be sure you are using the correct url and that the maching running Wowza Media Server has access to the Icecast server.

Charlie

The error message in Wowza Pro indicates that Wowza Pro is not able to connect to the Icecast server. Maybe the Icecast server is overloaded and refusing connections. If Wowza Pro cannot connect it cannot re-stream. So you need to sort out why Icecast is returning 404 errors.

The breaks in streaming are most likely bandwidth issues. Maybe the network is overloaded? Is that possible?

Charlie

I have been playing your stream for the last 5 minutes without issues. No breaks. I do hear a strange static sound. But it seems to be in the stream. I don’t think it is a Wowza Pro issue. It seems more like an encoding issue or a problem with your physical connection to the source stream.

Charlie

It is most likely a network issue on your end. I would focus there. Also be sure your server is tuned properly:

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-do-performance-tuning

Also, what is your network setup? How fast is your connection to the Internet. It sounds like the connection might be overloaded. Is this possible?

Charlie

Are you sure you are not reaching the limits of your network connection? Do you have some way of validating this?

Charlie

I am not sure I understand your comment. What exactly does this mean?

Charlie

The Flash player can be finicy about the sample frequency. Be sure the sample frequency is one of these: 8KHz, 11KHz, 22KHz, 44Khz. Anything else and the Flash player can have problems decoding properly.

Charlie

I tried your player and that channel, and it does skip regularly. But I don’t think it’s a problem with Wowza or the player. It’s probably the radio station. I grabbed a random shoutcast url and had no problem. (maybe bluegrass just works better then heavy metal). Try this one:

Hi charlie, thanks for your reply.

The icecast url is correct. because normally the sound work, the problem is that the streaming have constant breaks in streaming, i don’t know if the problem is buffer, when i have many users the problem is more frecuent, i have the player in this URL http://www.laxmasmusica.com/player/index.html. the bandwidth in my server is big.

The icecast source is http://stream.seedcorporate.com:5086/todelar_lax_aac.

I send again the log error.

Thanks.

Thanks again,

If I listen directly from icecast, i don’t have breaks, the problem is when I use the rtmp with wowza.

The only logs that i have from icecast are:

The sample frecuency is 44Khz.

Hi,

In this moment i have many problems, the stream is with high traffic, the stream is stopping each 30 seconds, the problem doesn’t the network, the icecast is working fine.

I will check the server tuning.

The server connection is 10MBps unmetered, I’m streaming to 900 listeners at 24Kbps.

I have this comment: I heard directly from icecast using VLC player an the sound had the same problem, then I stop Wowza, I listen again from Icecast and the problem was solved, is posible that Wowza use too hardware?, the server is a Dual Core Xeon at 2.4 Ghz and 4GB RAM.

Yes, I confirmed with my provider and the use registered into my bandwidth graph is less than when I use only Icecast.

I am not sure I understand your comment. What exactly does this mean?

Charlie

Is this problem solve? I’m also having similar issue where there is intermittent break in the streaming. I’m using the Free Edition. I need to get this solve before commit to the paid edition.
