Cannot restream Icecast 2.3.2 streams after following tutorial

I’ve just setup a wowza server to restream 2 separate audio streams that we currently stream through Icecast. I’ve gone through the tutorial on how to set it up and when I try to test it from vlc or through the test players, I get “Source stream or file could not be found or access was denied.” as the status on the source player. I’ve tried creating a new application and also running it through the Shoutcast app, but I get the same errors. The URI I’m using for the .stream file is: http://mystreamserver:8000/mymountpoint.m3u. Wowza says it connects to the stream but then I get nothing when testing.

I can connect to the above icecast link via vlc and my current streams are up and running through icecast with no issues. I’m hoping to be able to run a few different bitrates for each of the two streams and weather I have to use the audio transcoder or not is another question. For now, I just want to get the stream up and playing through Wowza. Any help is appreciated.

Hi there and welcome to the Wowza support forum.

Can you please post the log output from the console to help troubleshoot this issue?

You can start Wowza in stand-alone mode(install-dir/bin/startup.bat | startup.sh on Mac) and view the output in the console.

Well, the log output will show many things, errors may not be present of they may be. The logs may help pin point any hangups, (or errors) that are occurring.

Yes, you will need to shut down and restart using /bin/startup.bat

Got a few errors here.

First off, lets make sure Wowza is stopped before we re-start again. Take a look at this section of the Quick Start Guide to shut the server and the manager down. Then re-start and test:

We are trying to eliminate this error first:

Make sure there are no other applications running on this IP/Port combination, as that will cause this error as well.

The second(or first in the list) error seems to indicate that the connection has subsided, that there is no subsequent data to be found, or that the data has changed format.

Check to make sure the source is still running and the URL to the source is correct.

If you can eliminate the bind error and confirm the source is correct and sending data, then please open a ticket by sending an email to support@wowza.com. Include a zipped copy of your /conf and /log folders along with a link to the source as well as a link to this thread as reference.
