Hello Wowza Community!
I’m excited to share our next update:
HLS makes IP camera and drone feeds playable in any browser, but segment buffering can leave operators 20 seconds or more behind live events. Tim Dougherty’s updated guide shows how Wowza Streaming Engine converts RTSP and RTMP feeds to WebRTC for sub-second playback in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Tim’s blog covers:
- Connecting an RTSP camera with a .stream file, or publishing a drone feed over RTMP
- Enabling WebRTC playback, plus WHIP and WHEP for HTTP signaling
- Transcoding AAC audio to Opus for WebRTC playback
- Migrating WebRTC settings from builds older than 4.11 to the current implementation
- Fixing black screens, missing audio, NAT issues, and stuttering drone feeds
