Wowza Streaming Engine 4.7.8 and JWPlayer livestream closed captioning issue

I’m testing the origin-edge format with Wowza Streaming Engine 4.7.8, streaming to an embedded JWPlayer. The problem I’m having is that when I stop the stream and play it again, the captions start over again, printing the same lines from when I first started the stream rather than the captions for the current timecode.

My thought was that JWPlayer might be caching the captions somehow, but I’m not sure.

Thoughts?

Tech support would need a ticket on this to run some tests and determine if it’s on our end or JW Player as far as why it’s not obeying the timestamps. We’re happy to take a closer look and try to fix it for you, but not possible without full access to your files and logs. Thanks!
