wowza+RTMP jPlayer seek not working on Chrome

I’m streaming a mp4 file from wowza to jPlayer via rtmp.

The file plays ok from the beginning but when I seek to a different time, only the sound move, the image freezes. It works ok on Firefox and with other client-side players.

Any idea?

Please note it’s “jPlayer” and NOT “jwPlayer”.

TIA

Hi

This seems likely to be a player problem with respect to the browser, as said, it is able to work with FireFox.

Also verify that this issue is not due to file encoding parameters. Does this occur with the sample.mp4 test file

provided with Wowza Streaming Engine?

Thanks for your answer.

I suspect it’s more complicated than that, because also noticed a sound problem: sound is completly out of sync (see Variable sound drift when playing MP4 in VOD application).

The file plays perfectly when using http progressive download, and shows the sound problem problem with wowza’s test players (sorry my description was wrong in my first post).

I noticed that the sound is also jerky on the ipad, so I suspect something related to the file encoding: maybe some weird incompatibility between wowza and the tracks multiplexing?

Also the player works here: http://jplayer.org/latest/demo-01-video-supplied-rtmpv/ but I don’t know which server is used.

Hi,

Right, so again wondering “Does this occur with the sample.mp4 test file provided with Wowza Streaming Engine?”

If you suspect the file encoding, try the encoding suggestions here.
