Stream Recording with Timecode

Hi

I’m trying to find a way to record incoming streams with “Time of Day” timecode.
Currently all my record files if looked at within Adobe Premier don’t have any timecode information.

This seems to be for both Auto-recorded streams, as well as converted DVR to VOD assets…

I gather this could be related to the encoder source, but is there any options to record server time if the source does not present timecode, or are they any settings anywhere I can check?

Thanks

Mike

Have you tried adding the streamRecorderRecordData property with a value of true?

Please find a screenshot attached showing this property in Wowza Streaming Engine Manager. The default value for this property is false.

You should be able to inject this data into the stream using a custom HTTP Provider and with the property previously provided, this will capture this data in the recording.
https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-inject-timed-metadata-using-a-wowza-streaming-engine-http-provider

With the data recorded, you should be able to use it from the MP4 file when editing with your video editor.

Feel free to submit a support ticket if you’d like a Wowza engineer to work directly with you to configure this.
