Hi

Thanks for a nice support forum.

I got a couple of questions.

  • Does Wowza have any loadbalancer /Cacheserver ?

  • If we want to use Wowza to stream live channels, how many channels can each server handle ? How many clients can each server handle ? If we say that the bitrate is 1 mbit.

Wowza provides a Loadbalancer AddOn and MediaCache:

For server specs, we recommend late model dual quad CPU, 4 - 8 gigs of RAM, and at least 1gbs nic.

With 20% overhead accounted for. A 1g nic = 800mbs throughput, which is 800 1 mbs streams, or 1600 500kbs streams.

Hi Salvadore

Where can I found the prices for the loadbalancer and the cache servers ? On wowza website I find only the price for the streaming server.
