RTMP Streaming not working under adobe protocol

Hi, I am testing the getting familiar with Wowza Media Server.

I use a Avercaster to be the encoder and choose ‘rtmp’ to publish the streaming. Now I can use the iPad to play the streaming with no problem. However if I open the URL following the format of ‘http://[wowza-ip-address]/[application]/[application-instance]/[stream-name]/manifest.f4m’, I can’t get the stream played with the message of ‘This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.’

Any hints on this one? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,

Yes, that url won’t initiate play back from a browser by itself. You need to use that URL in an embedded player, such as the Wowza example live flash http player

I see, thank you. Let me check the configuration first.

Hi Daren,

Can I use a normal browsers, e.g. IE, Chrome, Sarari, and Firefox, without any further configuration to play the stream? I mean once we publish the stream from Wowza Media Server, the users would watch it in their own browsers.

Thank you.
