Re streaming live streams for tricaster to multicast udp.

I am looking into deploying a Wowza server that will re stream live streams for a number of tricaster broadcast media servers to set top boxes and vlc clients using multicast mpeg-ts streams (H.264). The input from the tricasters will be rtmp push 30fps 512kbps H264 streams. Output will be multicast mpegts H264. I have the solution working but I do not know how much hardware is needed for this solution. Could someone please give a idea what hardware is needed for this solutions.

Thanks,

Carl

Carl,

What matters is max number of concurrent clients and stream bitrate. Generally, for production streaming server, a dual quad Nehalem cpu or newer, 4 - 8g ram, and at least a 1gbs nic. That will handle about 1600 500kbs streams. The nic will be the limiter.
