QA: DRM with CMAF HLS

I’m a bit confused by the following statements from this doc:
https://www.wowza.com/docs/about-cmaf-workflows-in-wowza-streaming-engine

In addition, CMAF supports Common Encryption (CENC), which brings the encryption scheme used for MPEG-DASH to HLS streams as well. CENC applies AES-128 encryption to streamed content and supplies header information that any DRM system can use to decrypt it. However, Wowza Streaming Engine does not currently support using CENC with CMAF HLS.

Can you help confirm which of my following understandings is correct?

  1. WSE supports CENC with the “cbcs” encryption scheme for CMAF HLS, but not the CENC “cenc” scheme.
  2. WSE doesn’t support CENC with neither “cbcs” nor the “cenc” scheme for CMAF HLS.

If it’s 2, then it means CMAF HLS cannot be encrypted using FairPlay. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Wendong
