Manual upgrade of a non-BYOL EC2 AMI

I am using the “Wowza Streaming Engine 4: Pro Edition” subscription from Amazon Marketplace. This provides AMIs with an embedded (non-BYOL) license.

There is a new release 4.3, but unfortunately the AMIs for this release are not yet available. Can I upgrade my host manually using the instructions here:

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-upgrade-wowza-media-server-software-to-wowza-streaming-engine?

More specifically, I am asking if the embedded license provided through the AWS Marketplace subscription allows for manual upgrades of the Wowza software.

Thanks.

Hello,

Yes, you can upgrade your AMI manually to 4.3. The license determines how the billing component is handled and should work fine with the upgraded version.

Best regards,
