How can I test playlist.m3u8 without iphone?

Hi!

I’ve installed Wowza 1.7.2 on Ubuntu 9.04 and on Windows XP.

I followed all steps with app & conf dirs and I am capable to view flv / mp4 / rtp stream only with players from examples folder.

when I try http://localhost:1935/vod/mp4:Extremists.m4v/playlist.m3u8 with my browser (firefox) or safari (from iphone) I get this page (source):
Wowza Media Server Pro10 1.7.2 build12107Wowza Media Server Pro10 1.7.2 build12107
The fact is that does not matter what I write after “http://localhost:1935” … everytime I get the same page…

Here is INFO when server started:

Yes, you have to keep up with the expirations on the Preview releases.

Richard

There was a link to the Wowza 2 Preview forum, which is no longer active. I have edited that post.

We have re-structured these tutorials. Instead of a tutorial for IPhone that covers live and vod, we have separate tutorials for live and vod streaming that cover each technology. See the new Articles section of our Forum, the Tutorials section here:

A lot of folks have reported difficulties with emulators doing video correctly, but mostly on Android.

You could also obtain an iPod Touch that would let you test the streaming. All it needs is version 3.0 or later of the software.

You should also be able to test it using an HTML5 video tag with a browser that supports Apple HLS (such as Safari on Windows or Mac)

Thank you, Richard! I will try today!

but, what about this note:

NOTE: Wowza Media Server 2 Advanced Preview 6 will expire on 30 September 2009

thanks again!
