EC2 Wowza Server Terminated Automatically

Hi,

I have been preparing an EC2 Wowza server for a production deployment in the Sydney region using the Wowza AMI. I came in this morning to find that my instance was terminated automatically. Since this is instance store, I have lost all of the setup and configuration that I had been working on. In the EC2 console, the reason statement is:

State transition reason

Server.ScheduledRetirement: Terminated due to scheduled retirement

Why did this happen?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi,

It looks like it was an underlying hardware failure in Amazon. From Amazon support:

Thanks for contacting AWS support. An instance is scheduled to be retired when AWS detects irreparable failure of the underlying hardware hosting the instance. You can read more below.

Thanks,
