Choppy Live Playback

I am running the Flash VideoChat Sample using localhost. I am seeing frames dropped and weird small pauses in the playback stream using zero buffer time. If I increase the playback buffer I notice buffer empty messages and long pauses in the video. After a long pause the video will ‘catch up’ and display frames in rapid fire. Note: I can play the live video using VLC (rtsp) and it looks fine. Also playing the recorded stream using VLC or Flash player looks fine. Any ideas on the cause? This is a brand new install of Wowza 4.4.0.

Okay the problem turned out to be the audio. I think Flash was not getting audio properly from my sound card so the video frames on the client were waiting for the audio data.
