Best html5 & flash player for most compatibility across devices and platforms ?

We are trying to find the web player that is most compatible for playing on computers, devices, os

We stream multi-track MP4 over RTMP and HLS

RTMP format example

rtmp://video.demo.com/dir/mp4:folder/video.mp4?audioindex=1

HLS example

http://video.demo.com:1935/dir/definst/mp4:folder/video.mp4/playlist.m3u8?audioindex=1

The problem we are having is the compatibility seems random on mobile devices.

Some iOS Air devices do not play the videos while others do, we have 3 iOS Air devices and 2 of them do not display the videos only audio. About 50% of Android do not display video or audio.

Some of the device browsers play the videos and some do not. For example on Android some devices with Dolphin browser display the video fine but not in the native browser or Chrome even after install the android flash plugin.

We are using JWPlayer 5 as JWPlayer 6 appears even less compatible in our tests.

This is driving me batty

Can you please provide more details about your setup.

What is the source of the stream?

What are the video and audio codecs of the stream?

What are the bit rate, fps, GOP(key frame interval) and profile of the stream?

Are you seeing any indication or the issue in the logs? You can start Wowza in stand-alone mode and view the output in the console [install-dir]/bin/startup.bat|startup.sh
