Hello!
Is anyone aware of any updates / config changes that allow current or most popular Android devices to display closed captions in live HLS streams?
We have captions operational and viewable in desktop and iOS, but Android is not detecting them in either JW6 or HTML5 players.
This article talks about Ingesting CEA-608 caption data, https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-configure-closed-captioning-for-live-streaming
But I am unable to locate an article that talks about outputting CEA-608.

Thanks for any response.
Clayton
Hi,
This article describes how to enabled WebVTT captions for live streaming, which will
also display on iOS 6.0, and greater, devices
Android support for live captions is still limited, but as of 4.4 WebVTT is supposed to be supported, so the above may have a chance of working for Android as well.

Thanks for the update, but this still relates to WebVTT, still looking for enabling HLS with CEA-608 Captions versus WebVTT.
Can you point me to the documentation for that option?
Thanks
Clayton
