4.0.5 deprecates support for NVIDIA CUDA - the future of GPU transcoding

Hello,

we wanted to start a Wowza Windows Server with a Nvidia Tesla K20 GPU card, but now I have found the message:

Wowza Streaming Engine 4.0.5 deprecates support for NVIDIA CUDA encoding acceleration, which isn’t supported in the latest NVIDIA graphics drivers (340 and greater)

What kind of GPU transcoding will be supportet now?

Are the Nvidia Tesla cards “ony not supported” or do they no longer work with Wowza?

Hi,

Please note that the deprecation mentioned in the release notes is for CUDA based hardware acceleration. Your Nvidia Tesla K20 card can use NVENC HW acceleration which is not affected.
