Dear Sir/Madam,
I want to know the cost estimation for setting up a new streaming server. I want to set up the server in amazon EC2, Asia Pacific(Singapore) region using the m1.medium instance. We are expecting 1000 viewers per month. I want to know the cost per month (aws usage fee + wowza streaming engine cost), if we use ‘Wowza Streaming Engine 4: Bring Your Own License’ plan.
Thanks in advance
Hello,
To help estimate your AWS Usage, try this:
(kilobits per second * 60 seconds * 60 minutes / 8 [bits to bytes]) = kilobytes per hour per stream * average number of users * hours * .00001 = gigabytes * price per gig = est total cost.
(696 * 60 * 60 / 8) * 1000 * 1 * .00001 * .12 = $376
This assumes 1000 clients will consume the whole hour.
For the Wowza Streaming Engine bring your own license, you will need to determine how many servers you will need to handle 1000 concurrent users.
Below you have a couple options, however, I would suggest that you send an email outlining your project eeds to sales@wowza.com to get the most accurate cost:
Monthly Pay As You Go
Perpetual License
