wowza server trial version on EC2

Hi All,

I am planning to live streaming on the iPhone using wowza server on EC2. I have tested the live streaming with installing the wowza server on my local system.

Now, I want ask few question:

  1. Is EC2 server available with preinstalled latest wowza server?

  2. If Yes, then how I can get the wowza server preinstalled on EC2 server?

  3. When I get the EC2 server with installed wowza server, I think, I may need to enter my license key. If I can use my trial license key for the moment? If the setup properly works then, I am planning to buy perceptual license.

Please help me and guide me for my setup.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Manoj,

  1. Yes

  2. There are two options. “lickey” uses your existing Wowza license. “devpay” doesn’t require a pre-paid license. See here: https://www.wowza.com/pricing/ec2-streaming.

  3. I don’t think you can use the pre-built AMI with the trial license. In any case, you will still have to pay for the Amazon usage. I do think you can setup an Amazon EC2 instance on your own, install Wowza, and then use your trial license. Amazon even offers a free micro instance which may be good for some limited testing.
