WIldcard for Flash version string?

I want to use user/pass security to secure the RTMP streaming sources on an application … no problem send the parameters from my browser-based Flash app.

When I try to enable user/pass authentication in Wowza, it also applies a “Flash Version String” filter to disallow anything but a limited set of streaming sources … helpfully there is no way to turn this off.

Equally helpfully, if you try to set the wildcard “*” as a version, that seems to be ineffective and ignored/blocked in some way

There seems to be no way to see what the version string being sent by the clients is easily (could be anything, I have no control over what version of Flash or equivalent my users will have in their browsers) and I 100% do not need them blocked … any ideas on how to bypass or turn off, or wildcard the flash version string detection in Wowza ??
