VOD Microsoft Smooth Streaming is CHOPPY at high video resolutions

Hi,

I am doing some tests with the VOD application for HLS, SilverLight and RTMP playback. It works fine in all of them with low resolution media files but when it comes to HD I have been encountering problems for SilverLight(MSS) playback.

At the end of my comment you will see the file that I am trying to stream with SilverLight but the result I get is choppy. Again HLS and RTMP streaming works ok.

This is not a network related problem since the server is running in my localhost. The cpu and memory usage seem normal.

I wonder if there is some server tuning that should be done to solve this issue.

Can you please test this with one of the higher bitrate files Wowza provides for testing purposes?

The problem I had was due to my Silverlight player. I tried with another computer and it worked fine.
