Video Skipping back a few frames after update to 4.9.7+10

Greetings all –

I am testing out the update to streaming engine 4.9.7+10 that was recently released.

I am doing this before I shift it to production servers.
I have noticed an issue with my transrated streams where I am seeing a skip back a few frames. This happens consistently every few seconds. It does not happen on my highest bitrate stream which is configured as a passthrough from my encoder. But anything that is configured for a different bitrate or frame size has this issue.

Could this be a bitrate issue? The incoming stream should be set to a constant bitrate from the encoder. I have added the mainconcept.bit_rate_mode parameter to one of the transrated option with no change. In fact the logged settings show it as VBR, but this is also a known bug from what I have found.
Or is this an issue somewhere else.

I am using an AJA Helo as my encoder. I have made no changes besides the update to the test streaming engine. I also have embedded captions coming across, which all seems to still be working fine.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Brent,

Thank you for reaching out to us via Wowza Forum.

We would request you to create a Support Ticket with the Wowza Support through the Wowza Support portal.

To expedite the troubleshooting, I request you to provide the conf/ and logs/ directory with us along the reproduction steps.

Additionally, could you confirm if the issue is limited to only the AJA Helo encoder or did you test the workflow with other encoders like OBS Studio and observed the same issue?

We look forward to hearing from you.
