Transrating Issue / Keyframes

If we have transrating on to push multiple bitrates to Akamai, video will have a jerky playback. If we send a single bitrate with transrating off, there is no playback issue.

The basic requirement for Akamai is to receive keyframe in constant interval. With the value for keyframe interval at 2 seconds.

What could be causing the jerkiness in playback when sending multiple bitrates to Akamai?

Hi there,

Are you using the source stream as one of the streams in the ABR set? This may be the issue as the source stream’s key frames may not be aligned with the transrated stream’s key frames. Key frame alignment is critical for ABR streaming to work.
