Any plans on the Transcoder supporting OS X? We use Wowza with OS X and would like to keep using it and other add-ons like the Transcoder with it.

Hardware and Driver Requirements

Wowza Transcoder is supported on:

Windows 64-bit

Linux 64-bit

Note: 32-bit operating systems are not supported and OSX is not supported.

No, I don’t know of any plans to add support for Transcoder on Mac OSX

I know this was from forever ago, but I was wondering if there was any explanation for why it’s not possible to do transcoding on OSX? It seems so close to linux/BSD that it should be possible. Is it a licensing issue, a support one, or a technical one?

Hi,

We have certain OS-specific libraries for Transcoding on Linux and Windows (see the /lib-native directory of a Wowza installation on Windows/Linux). Currently we do not provide these specific hooks for OSX.
