transcoder AddOn license and technical question about transcoding

Hi all and apologies for the ambiguous topic.

Basically we want to transcoding from AAC audio to mp3.

I think this can be made with the AddOn trancode module, it’s right or i’m wrong?

If it’s right, the second question is: it’s necesary another license (perpetual) to do this or, It’s possible with my current perpetual license (Wowza Streaming Engine 4 Perpetual Edition 4.1.0 build12602)

Hello there, the Wowza Transcoder can ingest MP3 audio and encode it to AAC audio, but not the other way around.

And I am fairly certain you will need to purchase a separate perpetual Transcoder license. You can contact sales@wowza.com to find out more about this.
