Hi, im using Wowza media server, and we change our delivery to MS smooth, but it seems connections goes crazy, we stream at 1.6Mbps, and BW has nothing to do with number of connections
Example:
Connections: 795
BW: 169Mbps (should be 100 aprox)
Is there a way we can kill idle smooth connections?
Also, is there a way we can disable the log module?
thank you
Hi,
It’s hard to say without looking at your setup what is behind those figures. Are you monitoring using Wowza’s own monitoring pages in the Engine Manager? Do you see a similar correlation when the connections go up and down?
You can control what is logged via the log4j.properties file located in your conf directory. This uses the standard log4j method. There is a detailed explanation of what is logged in our user guide.
You can for example set rootCategory to WARN (default INFO) and that will significantly reduce how much is logged, however that will also prevent us from being able to fully understand your system should you raise any issues with us and we request your conf and log files.

Hi,
It is best if we can review your configuration and logs files. Please collect debug information on your statistics and provide us with the requested output, a zip copy of your conf/, logs/, transcoder/, and manager/logs/ folders through a ticket.

Hi Paul
Setup is default
this is a real example of connection counts:
717
1945385
1945385
0
7560759.0
1.3537635E7
where incoming streams are like 1.6Mb each, should be like 85 outgoing connections (as edge) + connections 5 incoming connections (origin)
thank you
