Greetings!
I’m experimenting with LL-HLS and can’t figure out how to inject timed metadata. Would be grateful for any guidance.

We do not have the support just yet for timed data in the cmaf packetizer you would use for LL-HLS in Wowza.
Hi @Roger Jönsson glad to hear you’re experimenting with LL-HLS and just making sure you know that while Wowza supports this new protocol. you do need the permission from Apple to play a LL-HLS stream. Here are the details:
As far as timed metadata for LL-HLS, I need to check if I have any docs for you yet on that from Wowza. Let me confirm and I’ll be back to update you soon.

Hi @Rose_Power-Wowza_Com, It has been a year now since last update. Is there any progress on supporting timed metadata in LL-HLS?
Thank you,
James
Hello everyone!
I’m looking for a solution to inject timed metadata into LL-HLS as well. During my research I came across this forum post. Has there been any progress on supporting timed metadata in LL-HLS? Any information on this topic is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Christian
Hi @christian.deiss!
Thank you for posting in the Wowza community forum. This feature has not been implemented within Wowza Streaming Engine. I am posting the article below as a reference for this and any other limitations to the CMAF packetizer. I am hopeful this will serve as a reference to this question going forward on this topic.

Hello @Mac_Hill,
Thank you very much for your response and the additional information. Do you see any possibility for us to implement this feature ourselves, potentially as part of a collaboration?
Christian
If it is a core code requirement on our part, then likely not. Do you have an Account contact you can reach out to in order to discuss this further? Unfortunately, this inquiry currently lives in a feature request state and would require some additional discussion both with the Product and Developer teams to know what options you may have.
