The Stream Targets feature in Wowza Streaming Engine is it Multicasting?

I have a question regards to Stream Targets and does it work the same way multicast works?

I am looking for a multicast solution to send a stream from an origin server to 10 edge servers using a single stream (multicast). The current network is multicast enabled but we are looking to upgrade and most to Wowza Streaming Engine. Looking to host Wowza in house (no cloud)

I have done a limited test using a Stream Target but my question is does it work like multicast?

Stream Targets do have an option to send out a Multicast stream.
