Hey everyone,
I know this is a newbie question, but were approaching a few once a year events, and I just want to confirm what TCP/IP ports are needed for the Wowza Streaming Cloud?
I searched in various docs, FAQ & forums with no luck
,
So thanks for your help
Hi @Joseph_Danahy, we welcome all questions, newbie or years of experience.
Engine does support both TCP and UDP. Streaming Cloud is built on top of Wowza Streaming Engine, but the way Cloud is deployed behind a firewall, only supports TCP. The answer to your question is:
Wowza Streaming Cloud will use the following TCP ports:
1935 for your RTMP encoder to connect to Wowza Streaming Cloud.
80 for HTTP playback of HLS and/or Adobe HDS content from Wowza Streaming Cloud.
443 for HTTPS playback of HLS and/or Adobe HDS content from Wowza Streaming Cloud.
Wowza Cloud does not utilize static ip addresses nor a specific range of ip addresses. We utilize a revolving pool provided to us by the cloud deployment vendors we use. If possible, it is recommended to provide a DNS filter instead with firewall settings.
