Streaming Target Error

Hello,

I have a problem with a Streaming Target to Wowza Streaming Cloud in Streaming Engine 4.5

It’s a fresh install of Streaming Engine and a simple configuration. I used the documentation on Wowza website to configure Wowza Streaming Cloud and Streaming Engine to extend Streaming Engine with Streaming Cloud as a CDN with transcoding on Streaming Engine.

It works fine until you stop the source stream to Streaming Engine. Streaming Target switches to “waiting” state and if you start publishing the rtmp feed to Streaming Engine again, Target always switches to Error.

Error log schows me the following for every single rendition:

PushPublishRTMP.sessionClosed[rtmp://p.xxxxxxxx.i.akamaientrypoint.net:1935/EntryPoint/xxxxxxxx_1_xxxxxx@xxxxxxx]: RTMP session closed unexpectedly. Retrying in 22780 msec

After you restart the Stream Target it works fine. But if you stop and start the source rtmp live stream to the Streaming Engine, the Target switches to waiting and then it goes to error again. Everytime until you restart the Target. Horrible.

I tested this configuration on different servers. Just a waste of time.

I don’t have the installer of the previous version of Streaming Engine anymore. Is there a downloadlink? I want to try it with Streaming Engine 4.4.1. Please post a link and please don’t tell me you don’t post links to previous versions. With this behaviour it’s not usable.

Andreas

OK, so I found out that I still can download Streaming Engine 4.4.1 with modifying link from download page.

I installed 4.4.1 and it works fine. No problems at all. It’s definitly a bug in 4.5.0.

I will stay with 4.4.1 until this bug has fixed.

Ok, I have to correct myself.

Today I installed Streaming Engine 4.5.0 again and I cannot reproduce this failure.

It must have been some networking issue? Maybe a routing problem or so.

Sorry for my bleating.

Glad to hear things are working.
