Streaming Engine service stops

Hi,

I have installed a fresh installation of Wowza (4.0.1) on a Windows server.

The engine manager service is running, but the streaming engine service stops after a few Seconds.

Can’t see anything i the Windows event log.

Any suggestions on this issue?

Hi there,

Are you using a Wowza Streaming Engine license key? Please note that Wowza 3.x license keys are not compatible with Wowza 4.0.1.

Are you seeing any evidence in the Wowza logs to indicate what the problem may be?

You can start wowza in stand alone mode and view the startup logs in the console. [install-dir]/bin/startup.bat

Please post what you see in the console here.

Salvadore

http://localhost:1935 will show the Wowza version number you have installed if everything is working properly. This means you are up and running.

You can do a quick streaming test by opening [install-dir]/examples/VideoOnDemandStreaming/FlashRTMPPlayer/player.html and play sample.mp4.

To get to the Wowza Engine Manager you need to navigate to http://[wowza-ip]:8088

If there is anything else you need help with let us know.

Hi Pierre, can you please describe your question in detail?

Salvadore

Thanks for your reply salvadore.

I have licence key for 4.0.1.

I tried your suggestion, and this is the error:

Error: missing ‘server’ JVM at ‘C:`Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\server\jvm.dll’.

Please install or use the JRE or JDK that contains these missing components.

How do I fix this?

EDIT: Fix that problem myself.

However, when I run http://localhost:1935/ I get this: Wowza Streaming Engine 4 Developer Edition (Expires: aug 20, 2014) 4.0.1 build10615

What is missing?

I did this:

Went to C:/Program files/java/jre7/bin

Created a folder called “Server”

Copied the content of C:/Program files/java/jre7/bin/client folder to the new C:/Program files/java/jre7/bin/Server.

Hi,

How did you fix it ?

Thanks

Pierre
