Streaming a file live through wowza?

Hello,

Is it possible to stream a file from the client through wowza?

I know about the VOD but here we need to stream a file from the client like a livestream through wowza.

I would appreciate any help in pointing me to the right direction for this.

Thanks so much.

Take a look at the VideoChat example that ships with Wowza

Richard

You can stream a file to Wowza as a live stream with VLC, ffmpeg, Wirecast, and other encoders I am sure. There are VLC and ffmpeg examples here:

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-use-ffmpeg-with-wowza-media-server-mpeg-ts)

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-use-vlc-as-a-live-stream-encoder-with-wowza-media-server-mpeg-ts)

And you can stream live from a file that is in the an application’s content folder using Stream class. Two examples:

https://www.wowza.com/docs/stream-class-example

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-schedule-streaming-with-wowza-streaming-engine-streampublisher

Andre,

Sorry, I see direct email now. I don’t monitor the PM channel (didn’t know people were messaging me that way till I started getting alerts that it was full) Better to write to support@wowza.com

The answer is to start with connectioncounts source:

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-get-connection-counts-for-server-applications-application-instances-and-streams-with-an-http-provider

Then take a look at this post:

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-parse-post-or-get-variables-in-an-http-provider

You will pass application name in querystring or form post so you can filter the output on Application name.

Richard

Andre,

I will send a list of consultants.

Hi Richard,

I would like to talk with you.

I tried sent an e-mail to richard.lanham at gmail.com but no return.

I tried sent a PM to you but the forum return:

The following errors occurred with your submission

rrlanham has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

What is the best way to talk with you?

Thanks,

Andre.

Hi Ricard,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

In fact, I dont have experience in programing, so I would like to pay someone to make this module for me.

I was looking for someone in google when I found the website lakesidetechnical.com.

i am still looking for someone that can make this module for me, if you can do it, or if you know someone that can do it, please tell me.

Thanks,

Andre.

Richard, I didnt mean broadcasting a live stream from camera. I meant broadcasting a live stream from a file.

Is there a sample for that or can I use VLC or anything to achieve this?

Thanks
