Hello,
from what I can see it’s not possible to configure a SRT Stream Target in Wowza Video, even when injesting a SRT source (while it’s available in Wowza Streaming Engine).
Am I missing something?
Are there plans to enable it in the near future?
Thanks
Hi Alessandro,
There are plans to enhance the Stream Target functionality within the Wowza Video 2.0 service in future updates. However, I’m unable to find anything specific about this including SRT Stream Targets.
I will discuss this internally and if approved, create a feature request on your behalf.

Hi Jason,
thank you for your reply.
I’m just wondering why this functionality is available in Wowza Streaming Engine and not in Wowza Video, which should be a state-of-the art professional platform.
More and more broadcaster are requesting (and many of them requiring) to injest SRT streams rather than RTMP for its intrinsic performance.
In addition, and a little bit out of context but hopefully useful as a feedback, stream targets management in new Wowza Video has become much less usable and straightforward.
Hi Alessandro,
For clarity, the Wowza Video service can ingest streams over SRT without issue.

I’ll pass along your feedback regarding the lack of support for SRT in Stream Targets and the usability of Stream Targets in general. However, as I mentioned above, there’s already a plan to enhance the Stream Target functionality. I recommend adding feedback regarding the general use after this change is applied.
