Shutdown/Kill running application?

Hello,

I am trying to find the “correct” way to shutdown/kill a running application (live stream). The client connects via Wirecast or Adobe FLME and the problem is that when we try to stop the stream (using the shutdownApplication() function, the client just tries to automatically re-connect the stream again.

The only way we’ve found that we can successfully KILL the stream is to in addition RENAME the application folder to something else.

The problem seems to be that this is causing an exception of some kind in Wowza itself because Wowza crashes pretty hard at that time. Where we have to start it back up manually.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to properly kill a long-running live webcast stream then?

Thank you!

I believe your solution would be located in Source Security application settings.

Here you can change the setting to not allow RTMP or RTSP publishing or restrict IP addresses.

Hope this Helps
