Hi, I want to know how I can setup the Axis camera to provide interleaved RTSPS streams (control and media over TLS) and be able to ingest in Wowza Streaming Engine
Go into plain config and search for RTSPS. Enable and set the port and certificate that you want to use.
Thank you Tom for the response. I tried that but the camera provides SRTP streams (RTP/SAVP). I am looking for interleaved RTSPS on the same TLS connection.
If the Axis included options don’t work for you, you might need to look at something from CamStreamer: About CamStreamer App | CamStreamer
Hi Gjain,
Thanks for your question. Axis cameras do support RTSPS (RTSP over TLS) and interleaved RTP over TCP, but when RTSPS is enabled, many models use SRTP (encrypted RTP) for the media stream.
This means you can’t get interleaved RTSPS (RTSP and RTP over the same TLS connection) natively from most Axis cameras.
Here are your options:
- Use RTSP over TCP without TLS if encryption isn’t required.
- Use a proxy like ffmpeg or GStreamer to decrypt the SRTP stream and send unencrypted RTP to Wowza.
- Use a third-party solution like CamStreamer that supports compatible streaming formats.
