Publilshing points

We currently Have a windows media server for all of our webcast. we would like to publish live webcast to I-phones and android smart phones. I have a couple questions

  1. Can we have multiple publishing points for live content? We will be broadcasting up to 4 events at the same time.

  2. Currently we push content to the server using a windows media encoder our older tricaster does not support flash encoding. What encoder do we use when pushing media to the wowza server if we decide to go with it?

Thank you

Josh

  1. Yes you can have multiple publishing points. The nomenclature used in Wowza is application, where as Windows Media is publishing point thus you can have as many as your hardware/network can support.

See

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-set-up-live-streaming-using-an-rtmp-based-encoder

which shows how to create an Application called ‘live’ You can change this name as you wish, making sure of course you change the encoder to point to the new name.

  1. There are several encoders from Flash Media Encoder (FMLE) to Wirecast, some are free such as FMLE, others are not. Each has advantages over the other.

A walk through on how to set up some encoders can be found here

https://www.wowza.com/docs/specific-encoding-technologies

I guess I need to find some examples of a tricaster setup. We will have up to 4 diffrent tricasters running. Two of them are older and do not support Flash.

Thank you for the other information
