Good Day All…

First let me just say I am a 101% total newbie with all of this stuff so I will try to be as brief as possible.

I am streaming 24/7 on my website w/ WOWZA Media. The company that I purchased the service from has provided me the RTMP URL, etc. The streaming works fine and I have a basic media player.

What I want to do is be able to insert a 15 or 30 second video ad pre-roll before the live stream kicks in.

I want to host the pre-roll file on my server.

I have NO CLUE on making playlists, tweaking code on the media player, etc. I’ve tried it all and apparently I am just missing the boat.

Can anyone please help me set this up?

I appreciate ANY and ALL help that I can get.

There isn’t an easy way to do pre-roll for live stream. The only practical way to do it is with an RTMP client, and you would have to know your way around the source code.

You do intermittent mid-roll in a live stream. Take a look a the scheduler as one way to do that:

Thanks for this, Richard - I really appreciate the quick response - but this stuff is WAY over my head.
