Right now when using the “Wowza Streaming Engine (PAID)” AWS marketplace product, the smallest GPU enabled instance we can select is the g4dn.4xlarge.
The g4dn.2xlarge is more than capable of doing a single 1440p ABR ladder and costs half as much as the 4xlarge.
I understand none of the GPU enabled instances come with the Nvidia drivers installed, that’s an easy fix. But we straight up cannot select the 2xlarge as it’s not in your supported list of instance types.
Hello
Thanks for the feedback—We recommend using a BYOL install on the g4dn.2xlarge, as our PAID AMI currently only supports g4dn.4xlarge.

Hello @Vihari_Kumar
I am aware the license only supports the 4xlarge currently.
My request is to add support for the 2xlarge instance.
On a setup that does multiple “bursts” of short lived streaming servers with unpredictable load, the math makes the BYOL license uneconomical.
Is there a reason the 2xlarge is not supported?
Thank you
