Newbie needing big help

I’m new the Wowza platform, but need to get it up and running for my companies website. I’m a front end designer/developer, so naturally my company thought I was the perfect guy to get this taken care of.

We’re using rackspace for the hosting and I’ve been able to get everything installed and running on the Unix platform. I can access the Wowza manager and edit the settings. What I’m having issues with is actually getting the sample content to play and then knowing where to upload my own content.

When I test the player, it say the IP is 10.x.x.x, which is the internal Rackspace IP not the forward facing one and nothing happens. I’m using the VOD application that came with the install.

The next question is where on the server does the content folder live?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Hello there and welcome to the Wowza support forum.

You will need to know and use the public IP in the player, not a private IP.

Please take a look at this guide for setting Wowza up on Rackspace:

Wowza Streaming Engine for Rackspace Cloud: Quick Start Guide

Also, the content folder is found at [wowza-install-dir]/content

Hope this helps.
