Need Multicasting Stream to Browser on an Intranet that isn't Windows Media or Flash

We have a client that needs streaming to be secure and local on their network. It also must be multicasted. We have been using Windows Media Services, but they are wanting to move away from the old standard. They also cannot (won’t) put flash on their network for security reasons. We are trying to use Wowza Streaming Engine to receive video from Wirecast and re-broadcast the stream as multicast. Wowza only seems to multicast RTP, MPEG-TS, and flash. We are having trouble finding a browser player that can reliably support that. Mobile is not a factor, it is all on desktops.

How could we achieve this using Wowza?

Thanks,

Michael

Did you try vlc which has a plugin for firefox and other browsers ? It can play anything …

We have considered VLC, but were worried about stability issues. We would need a corporate network to install and maintain VLC on all their computers. I can look into it however, as it seems to be one of the only options.

I assume the way to go would be RTP multicasting with a VLC plugin?
