nDVR gzip playlist.m3u8

Hi, i found in wowza site, that if i add in Application.xml in DVR Property dvrCupertinoPlaylistUseGzip, the playlist should be Gzipped. But it’s not.

Should i write some java plugin module, or compressing playlist is supported in wowza out-of-the-box ?

The version that i ask is 4.3.0.

I believe that this has now been added and came out with our 4.7.0 release:

  • Fixed Accept-Encoding header parsing to correctly allow gzip delivery for nDVR manifests

If this is not the element you are referring to please do let me know and I will look into this further

HLS improvements

Wowza Streaming Engine 4.8.10 includes several fixes for HLS streaming, including changing the default behavior for HLS streams to return Gzip encoded content when clients accept it. This speeds up reloading of the media playlist and switching between stream renditions.
