Live Origin-Edge Question

Hello, I have an origin-edge setup. I want to stream 50 channels to the origin then pull from 2 edge servers. When I have lots of people connected the origin crashes. I only allow hls and rtmp. The more people that connect to the edges also makes a load on the origin. I thought after its requested once from the edge for (hls and rtmp) it no longer pulled from the origin? Can someone please explain to me?

Hi,

The live streams are pulled for at least the duration they are played for. Each stream is pulled once for every stream type (HLS and RTMP)

and that will occur for each supported edge.

So you could easily be pulling 100 streams from the origin to each of the edges, that would be 200 streams.
