Hello,
We are experiencing a strange problem that I thought maybe the experts here have seen before. We are live streaming using FMLE RTMP to Wowza EC2 with H.264 protocol, 2 keyframes a second, baseline 3.0. We experience pixelation during the time that the keyframe is set. The pixelation occurs on the client media player in the browser (we’re using Flowplayer). So if we set the keyframe to 2 seconds in fmle, every two seconds we get pixelation on playback. If we set it to 5 seconds, we get pixelation every 5 seconds. I’m just trying to understand what may cause this issue and if anyone has seen this before.
Thanks much,
Greg
Greg,
I have not heard of that before. Is it a very high bitrate? Is the encoder connected to a webcam, video card?
Richard
Greg,
Interesting, thanks for the report. There is an “auto adjust” setting in FMLE, that might help.
Richard
We have 4 separate instances of FMLE that all start every day at the same time, around 7 AM PST. The 4 FMLE instances all connect to a single Wowza EC2 small instance. All the video streams are 500 kbps with a webcam connected to laptop running FMLE encoder. This is an intermittent problem, it doesn’t happen every day on every stream. When we restart FMLE on the streams that are pixelating on the keyframe timing sequence, it resolves the issue.
There are a lot of variables and I don’t think this is a Wowza server issue. I posted here in hopes that maybe someone else has seen/heard of the problem.
Thanks very much for responding.
Greg
