JW Player 6 for live stream from ip camera

Hello, our ip cameras give us an rtsp url.

I have that stream working with the default wowza flash player.

I am trying to just embed the live video into web pages with a flash player.

This example seems to be for playing a static video instead of the rtmp stream.

See how it says “File:” and “mp4” ?

Anyone know how to make this play the live stream from the rtmp from the wowza server?

Loading the video player...

I got the following to work in chrome but it does not work in Internet Explorer. It just shows a white screen…

Is this the best / right way to do this?

Thanks

Hi,

Wowza will provide an RTMP stream that can be consumed by JW Player. It sounds like you have been successful streaming RTMP to JW Player in Chrome, however, you are experiencing difficulty getting your stream to run using Internet Explorer.

Have you tested using one of our sample/test players in Internet Explorer? In Internet Explorer, try your RTMP stream using our Test RTMP player

I would be happy to test your RTMP stream also. Please send a request to support@wowza.com and include a reference to this post, a link to your RTMP stream, and include a copy of your [install-dir]/conf and /logs folders as a .zip file (or other archive) so we can take a closer look at your configuration and server activity.

In the IE10 internet options I turned on “use software rendering instead of GPU…”

That made the video play.

Is there a better way to embed the video from rtsp from an ip camera?

I thought wowza would turn the rtsp stream into an FLV or something…
