Hi,
We’ve setting up wowza for Live HLS broadcasting. The client is Android phone. The server is using wirecast rtmp as wowza input stream. Wirecast has multiple videos queueing to be played and stream to Wowza automatically.
Now the client application want to know which video is playing so it can link to the video by http streaming. We want to know whether the client application can get the time of every media segment post by server so we could count the latency between server and client and then jump to correct video link?
Is it possible to achieve that?
Thanks
Hello there.
Thank you for choosing Wowza for your streaming needs and welcome to the Wowza support forum.
With the understanding that there are multiple was to do what you describe through Wirecast, it sounds like you are using a playlist of sorts and sending that out as a single stream name.
If that is the case, Wowza will need some sort of metadata to know when the video has switched. With that information included with the stream, you would then need to create a custom module and HTTPProvider to capture that data and handle it according to your specifications.
In the event that you need further assistance with this, you can seek the help of a consultant by posting a request to the find a consultant forum or you can email support@wowza.com to get a Wowza endorsed consultant list.
Thank you,
Salvadore
