We are experiencing difficulty doing an HTTPS live stream with a webcam.
We are encoding the live stream to the WOWZA server (4.2.0.1) using AMF3 and RTMP/RMTPS via our flash based web camera application (very similar to https://www.wowza.com/resources/3.6.0/examples/VideoChat/FlashRTMPPlayer/player.html).
Using JWPlayer 7, we are able to do playback of the live stream using RTMP/RTMPS. However, we are NOT able to do the playback using HTTP/HTTPS/HLS. The player either gets timeout or displays “Cannot load M3U8: 404 not found”. For RTMPS and HTTPS streaming, we are using Streamlock.
The only clue the error logs offer at the moment is: HTTPStreamerAdapterCupertinoStreamer.service: Request timeout: 8000
We also tested other RTMP streaming methods to the wowza server (using avconv to stream sample.mp4), and we are able to playback using HTTP/HTTPS/HLS. We are just not able to do it via flash web camera application, and it also did not work with the Wowza’s Chat player example, for play back using HLS.
Do you have any idea/suggestion what the cause may be?
Regards,
Jason
