How does Wowza work in CDN?

Hi guys.

I want to know more about architecture of Media servers in CDN and also how does Wowza work in CDN?

I mean shall I have a Wowza Media Server on every single edge node? Or can I have a single WMS in region and re-stream to every edge node?

And what about my content? Shall I have them on cache servers or what?

An “edge server” has to be a Wowza server.

To scale live streaming use Live Stream Repeater (origin/edge):

To scale vod streaming use MediaCache, which allows you to store content on a web server that each MediaCache edge will cache from

I can’t told you anything about your Wowza questions, but here is good knoledge base about CDN http://cdnsun.com/knowledgebase. I think that you can find any general information there. All cdn companies works in one way, so this info is relevant.
